Dear Prospective Patient,
Difficulty in finding informed, competent, and compassionate treatment for dissociation is a common dilemma. There are only a limited number of therapists who are highly experienced in evaluating and treating dissociative disorders.
I have developed a private intensive outpatient treatment program specializing in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of dissociative and complex post-traumatic symptoms. This program is geared toward high-functioning clients who can travel to seek treatment with me in Naples, Florida. The program is particularly suited to people motivated to making significant progress in addressing their symptoms over a time span as short as several weeks. In the intensive outpatient program, I personally work with the client one-on-one for extended daily sessions throughout their treatment for as many weeks as indicated. Treatment is highly individualized, and unlike other intensive programs, there are no group sessions, and the use of medication is minimized. For those interested initially only in diagnostic assessment and treatment recommendations, a period of one week is recommended.
Those who have experienced this work with me report that the results of such intensive treatment are life changing, representing progress that usually takes years of conventional once-or-twice-weekly therapy sessions. As a testimonial of treatment success, I include below letters I recently received from patients (and one from a patient's spouse) who had worked intensively with me. Both patients had been experiencing pain and dysfunction which significantly interfered with their joy in life, and now after intensive treatment with me report significant and meaningful improvement. They also report an ability to further amplify those gains post-treatment on their own using skills learned during therapy.
Although working intensively one-on-one with a psychiatrist specialized in dissociative disorders uniquely addresses the needs of my clients, this individually-intensive mode of treatment is not common in the field, and for that reason the cost of our sessions is usually not covered by insurance.
Should you wish to find out more about my services please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail.
Sincerely,
Marlene Steinberg, M.D.
